Project Snapshot
PROBLEM
Art exhibitions increasingly seek immersive and interactive formats, but visitors often lack accessible tools to explore detailed information about artworks using their own devices.
SOLUTION
A mobile AR visitor guide that allows users to scan artworks and exhibition plans to unlock contextual information, audio narration, and spatial visualizations.
RESULT
A functional proof of concept that demonstrated how augmented reality can enhance art exhibitions by combining education, immersion, and personal exploration.
My Contribution
Designed and developed the AR visitor guide prototype using Unity
Implemented image recognition to identify artworks through the device camera
Integrated audio narration to provide detailed context about each piece
Created a 3D spatial visualization that appears in AR when scanning exhibition plans
Presented the prototype to the curatorial and production team as a technology demo

Impact
Developed as a demonstrative prototype for a proposed immersive art exhibition
Helped stakeholders visualize how AR could complement traditional artworks
Opened the door to future interactive installations such as holograms, interactive walls, and immersive environments
Learnings
This project highlighted how lightweight AR experiences can add value to exhibitions without overwhelming visitors. Allowing users to access content through their own devices created a personal and intuitive interaction model.
Building the prototype reinforced the importance of simplicity in AR design. Clear triggers, stable recognition, and focused content were essential to ensure a smooth experience in a museum context.
Presenting the application as a proof of concept demonstrated the role of prototyping as a communication tool. Even when projects are paused, interactive demos can help teams align around future possibilities and technological direction.
