Project Snapshot
PROBLEM
Railway history and mechanical systems can be difficult to understand through static displays, especially for visitors without a technical background.
SOLUTION
Two interactive applications combining visual explanations and timelines to help visitors explore how steam locomotives work and how railway systems developed over time.
RESULT
Permanent interactive exhibits that allow visitors to understand complex railway concepts in a clear and accessible way through direct interaction.
My Contribution
Designed the interaction flow for both interactive museum applications
Developed the applications in Unity with a focus on clarity and ease of use
Created visual explanations to break down the mechanics of a steam locomotive
Implemented an interactive timeline to explore the evolution of railways in Mexico
Supported content integration and on-site deployment in the museum space

Makes the history of railways in Mexico more accessible to visitors of different ages
Learnings
This project highlighted the importance of clarity when explaining technical systems to a general audience. Breaking complex machinery into visual steps made the content easier to understand and more engaging.
Working with historical content reinforced the value of timelines as an interaction model. Allowing visitors to explore events at their own pace helped transform linear history into an active learning experience.
Designing for museum use emphasized the need for simple interactions and durable interfaces. Clear navigation and visual explanations were key to ensuring long-term usability in a public setting.
