Learnings
This project reinforced the importance of defining a clear educational objective before choosing a game mechanic. Aligning interaction design with the museum’s narrative ensured that play supported learning rather than distracting from it.
Designing a matching-based game showed how small levels of complexity can improve engagement and retention. The contrast between full-color items and silhouettes encouraged visitors to slow down and observe details.
Working closely with the museum team highlighted the value of collaboration and openness to feedback. Integrating curatorial input throughout development helped shape an experience that met both educational and experiential goals.
